2015 Career Expo
The 2015 Career Expo was an excellent opportunity to inspire young people to pursue a rewarding career in public service. Hosted by leaders of the Kansas City metro's four core local governments — the City of Kansas City, Missouri; Jackson County, Missouri; Johnson County, Kansas; and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, this high-impact, interactive event introduced area junior and senior high-school students to career opportunities available in police, fire, health, human services, administration, parks and recreation, public works and water services.
The expo was on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Missouri. The event featured more than 50 exhibitors from local government, as well as representatives from colleges, universities and employment resource agencies. Students explored career paths expected to be in high demand over the next five to ten years and learn about youth-oriented employment opportunities, such as job shadowing, internships and mentorships.
